Vintage Ships In Stockholm 100 years
This year, Stockholm will honour their two old steam boat ladies S/S Drottningholm and M/S Angantyr to a 100 year in traffic . The vessels were built for the transport in Stockholm, and has over the years come to use both for soldiers during World War II and for summer visitors in the Stockholm archipelago. Today, they sail from City Hall to Drottningholm Palace. Both vessels can also be chartering for private groups or companies.
To sail forward in Lake Mälaren to the sound of the steam engine from Drottningholm is a great summer experience, especially if you do in the sunset with a nice dinner aboard.
While two of the vessels is celebrating 100 years, Strömma Kanalbolaget celebrates 40 years. There are now 30 vessels in the shipping company’s fleet, all with their own background and history. The boats have become well-known profiles in Stockholm’s ports and waterways in the archipelago and Lake Mälaren.
