Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Ranking
As the table shows, Switzerland is ranked 1st. Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Spain follow as the other countries among the top 10 overall.
The rankings are based on the new Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) covering 139 countries.
Travel & Tourism Report Focuses on Moving beyond the Downturn
Sweden joins the top five countries for the first time, having improved by two places since the 2009 T&T Report.The country is ranked 1st out of all countries in three key areas that span the three subindexes of the TTCI: environmental sustainability, ICT infrastructure, and cultural resources. The country’s supportive policy environment (ranked 8th), excellent safety and security environment (7th), and excellent air transport infrastructure (10th) contribute to this strong result.
