Sala Silvermine An Underground Adventure

Sala Silvermine

One of the world’s best preserved mine settings is Sala Silvermine in south west Sweden near Stockholm. Here the visitor encounters dark winding galleries, vast caverns and magic lakes. The experienced guides will tell you of a fantastic chapter in industrial history, and the mine area has also been developed into a venue for events, parties, weddings and conferences.

You can choose from several guided tours at 60 m and 155 m. Each little cavity you see under ground is the result of the labour of innumerable workers. It is an exciting, unusual and beautiful mine where it is possible to feel history up close.
You can also arrange an underground dinner entertainment and lunch  for groups in the festivity halls. For the slightly more adventurous, they offer accommodation in a mine suite, 155 meters underground also listed in the directory “Unusual hotels of the world”.
