Party Places In Sweden During Summer!

If you are after a bit of fun, people watching and champagne spraying, there are a few party places that can be visited at certain times – when all the other ‘brats’ are in town. Those of you who would rather enjoy Sandhamn, Båstad, Visby, Tylösand in a more relaxed style, follows some tips.

The first four tips have been put together by the hotel site www.hotels.com.

Sailing boats around and about Sandhamn
Between July 6-9, Sandhamn is taken over by well-to-do people sharing an interest in boats for the start of the Gotland Runt. The term ‘Sandhamn Stek’ or brat may well have come about during these weeks. Avoid the Gotland Runt and choose the area around Sandhamn some weeks before or after instead. If you are still eager to experience the sea, sailing boats and somewhat well-to-do people, check in at the Grand Hotell Saltsjöbaden – close by the sea yet close by town if it should turn out to be just a touch too calm.

Båstad Buzz
Tennis week in Båstad is arranged between July 2-17, and is one of Sweden’s most recognised sporting events. Over two weeks, a large majority of Swedish high society gather to catch some rays amid the glare of such tennis stars as David Ferrer and Robin Söderling, as well as to go to exclusive parties. If you would rather have a rest, take some walks and content yourself with the sea spray, book a room at Hotell Hovs Hallar – close enough should there be a tennis match you don’t want to miss.

Comfortable and central in Visby
Gotland is one of Sweden’s most popular travel destinations. This beautiful island attracts thousands of tourists each year and is always worth a visit. Week 29 has for a long time been called ‘Stockholm Week’ when the prices at hotels, restaurants and nightclubs soar. If you want to get more for your money, we recommend week 28. It is one week after Almedalen Week but before Stockholm Week. It is calm, accessible and you get more for your money. You overnight in comfort at Hotell St Clemens in the heart of Visby.
Tylösand – without the sand
One of Sweden’s hippest beaches is at Tylösand – a natural stop for anyone staying at Halmstad. If you want to avoid the sand in your toes and have a good value overnight stay, check into Arena Hotel and enjoy the pool, with its palms and refreshing drinks. If you want to try out club life and partying, we recommend Monday club where the music only stops once the sun rises. If you still want to make it to Tylösand, the sandy beach is completely free of charge.
