Mediaval tournaments and markets
Mediaval times will reappear as live theatre at several places round Skåne during summer season. It starts in Lund in the beginning of june. Next you will meet the mediaval knights in the newbuilt housing area in Jakriborg between Malmö and Lund. 1998 the two brothers Jan and Krister with their company Jakri planned to build appartments with an ancient design. The area just between Malmö and Lund were chosen as a perfect place to commute even to Copenhagen. Some call it a Disneylike town, but thousands of people have listed themselves for an appartment.
In this small Modern version of a German Hansa city you will also find the Furniture von Zapf. This is the largest Fendi Casa and Kagan showroom in Europe.
Glimmingehus is Scandinavia’s best-preserved medieval fortress. On 17th June the focus will be on the culture and ideals of medieval chivalry. What was a knight? How might they be recognised? Who could – or couldn’t – become a knight? On the castle’s grassy slopes you can try your hand at archery, test your strength and skills in medieval games and learn the secrets of medieval combat.
During the day the castle’s courtyard will be transformed into a swarming, Middle Age marketplace that provides fun and games and music and dance for the whole family.
In the middle om august the mediaval theater will take place during a whole week on the island of Gotland in Visby the little town. From Skåne you take a domestic air flight for a day or two.
Finally Landskrona between Malmö and Helsingborg will arrange a mediaval day in the beginning of september.
