Kivik Celebrates The Apple
For culinary experiences in Skåne the visit to Kivik is a must! The apple season in Kivik, southeast Skåne, is celebrated with the big apple market September 27-28th. Here you can look at apple exhibitions, see the worlds largest work of apple art. Each year the artist Emma Karp creates a gigantic “painting” made of apples
which is unveiled on the Saturday.
You will get the possibility of tasting different sorts of apples, talk to experts about your apple trees and buy apples. Don’t forget to visit Kivik’s Musteri, the apple brewery that gives guided tours through out the market or visit the House of Apples (Äpplets Hus) and the exhibitions and gardens.
For one hundred years Kivik and its surroundings has been the centre of fruit production in Sweden. The area is dotted with fishing villages along the coast and summer homes in amongst the apple orchards. In the spring people come to see the trees bloom and in the end of the summer to celebrate the fruit.
