Hanging Hotel

The first “hanging hotel” in the world, is placed I Funäsdalen, Sweden. You are hanging in a tent(portaledge), 800 meters over the village, on a mountain wall.  During your entire stay at the Hanging Hotel you will be roped in and attached to the cliff.

At arrival in the afternoon  we will meet you and introduce you to the equipment and the experience. After that we will guide you through the equipment and teach you how to use it. You will learn to absail, rope climb and the different safety procedures involved in it. We have enough time so that you will have time to make yourself comfortable with the equipment and the procedure and the guides.  During this time we will also assess if you are mentally and physically fit to go through with the overnight stay.

After having dinner we go up the mountain to our starting point on top of the cliff. When we get there, we go through the procedure, the safety issues and the equipment one more time before absailing.

In the morning, as the sun warms your tent, and you are getting ready to get out of bed, the guides will come to help you up the cliff when you call them on your walkie-talkie. You will rope climb up the cliff. (If you for some reason don´t feel comfortable with the rope climb, there will be a rope ladder and also a rope system to hoist you up.)
