Gospel Train To Stockholm in August
Stockholm’s Cultural Festival 2008 will start Tuesday August 12th and end on Sunday 17th. The cultural life in Stockholm will explode during this late summer week. More than 400 shows performed by 250 artists from all over the globe will be crammed into six days. For the first time this will also include the Stockholm Gospel Festival celebrating the 20 anniversary in 2008 with a program larger than ever.
A number of concerts at Sergels Torg is a part of Stockholm Gospel Festival, starting with the featured performance Gospel Train in Gustav Adolfs Torg (Square) Thursday 14th August. Four concerts will take us from cotton fields in the south to the contemporary movements in Chicago. More than 1600 gospel singers have registered from all over Europe to be part of this mass choir. “We gonna make the whole city rock”, says choir leader and Director Jonas Engström from Lerberget in Höganäs.
Dayspring Chorale is a genuine gospel choir from Chicago, listening to them is to step straight into the movie “Blues Brothers”. Their leader Cynthia Nunn has made over 30 trips to Europe. Now, she is here in Sweden for the first time to lead her own choir, Dayspring Chorale.
