Giant Apple Art Kivik Apple Market
Next weekend the traditional applemarket will be taking place in Kivik, the little village on the Baltic coast in Skåne. The eye-catcher at the Apple Market in Kivik must be the “apple art”: pieces of art that look like paintings(click on Äppeltavlor and scroll down for a gallery of apple art), but are actually pieced together by tons and tons of colourful apples, like a mosaic! The paintings made of apples look beautiful, but weigh up to 4 tons
Beside the Musteributiken and the House of Apples the visitors are greeted by the Café Restaurant Kärnhuset, offering everything from a nice cup of coffee to a menu. Along with the coffee you can enjoy their famous apple pie and other cakes with fruit and berries. Regional food, such as lamb, poultry and different kinds of fish, is always on the menu as well as vegetarian alternatives.
The candlelight creates the right atmosphere to the eel feasts in the autumn, while at the same time apples from thousands of fruit trees are being harvested.
