Family Friendly Halloween in Tivoli 2009
Halloween in Copenhagen Tivoli (9-19 October 2009) is dominated, of course, by pumpkins, but also by traditional harvest paraphernalia. A visit to the Tivoli in is always an adventure and only a jump away from Malmö and Sweden. They never let you down when it comes to traditional holiday festivities with the genuine atmosphere.
In 2006, Tivoli set out to create the standard for Halloween celebrations in Denmark. Tivoli’s Halloween in Copenhagen, Denmark, is based on the “horrific fun” principle. With the fourth Halloween celebration at Tivoli coming up, this goal has been reached.
Every day you can meet Tivoli’s witches and heroes (Harlequin, Pierrot and Columbine) on the Halloween Square by the Open Air Stage where the big mill is located and see them march through Tivoli with the Pumpkin Band (the Tivoli Boys Guard). At the square it will be possible to carve your own jack-o-lantern and buy sundry goodies. Tivoli’s rides will all be running.
The Magic Show featuring Tivoli’s witches is a programme event on the Open Air Stage, where the rock ‘n’ roll dance show is also staged. The Danish Championships for Giant Pumpkins will take place at Tivoli on Saturday 10 October. The 2008 championship winner was also a Danish record: 335 kilograms was the weight of the winning pumpkin.Children (max. 12. years) who feel like coming dressed up in a Halloween costume can participate in a contest to find the day’s funniest, best and wildest costume. A winner will be chosen every day at 3 p.m.
