Here are some selected activities – more will come:
In August 24-26th this year, 350 of Sweden’s finest independent food producers and artisans will be coming together in Stockholm for “Taste Delights”, Sweden’s largest food festival. Held in Stockholm’s most popular waterside marketplace in the centre of the city, Taste Delights lets visitors explore the incredibly diverse world of Swedish food and drink, from centuries old traditional products to the latest innovations.
Take the market trail from the far Arctic North of the country to the fertile south (a journey equivalent to London-Malaga!) — and discover hundreds of delicious, award-winning products that are every bit as distinctive as their regions of origin.
Salmon and seafood delicacies from crystal clear waters, salamis and hams from elk, ostrich and other exotic breeds, preserves from zesty northern berries and freshly harvested organic fruit and vegetables are just some of the products waiting to tempt you at this mouth-watering event.
In addition some of the country’s top chefs will be demonstrating just what they can achieve with Sweden’s finest food and drink in a special competition to be held at the event.
August 4th, The Village of Gladsax, southeast coast northwest of Simrishamn has an annual celebration in honour of its history, culture and inhabitants. Earlier years the topics have been the excavations of the medieval Danish Castle of Gladsax (Gladsaxehus), Bronze Age Rock Art, geology and more. This year the theme is nature: a flower quiz, a promenade amongst usual and rare trees lead by Prof Johan Elmberg and a concert in the Church – a unique cooperation between two well known duets: Esk from Denmark and Dråm from Sweden. The concert will contain the most beautiful songs and psalms from the age of Carl von Linné, the famous Swedish botanist and zoologist

The Culture Library in Malmö is the largest museum in southern Sweden. In the extensive programme, you will find both local, as well as international artists, in a wide range of genres. Enjoy the events in the theatre at the city lake Pildammsteatern, Hedmanska gården, in the parks and the area along the seaside. Skåne Culture and History: Snapphanar – daily excursions in northeast Skåne
In the northeast area of Skåne you may join, almost everyday, a theme-based event to this old historical period of Skåne when partisans and local farmers resisted to the Swedish king. The borders of the district of Göinge were once the site of ruthless battles of freedom and domination – and the stories will not go away.
Entertainments, concerts and picnics:
We all love the castle and park concerts round Skåne. A large blanket and a basket with wine and favourite food together with friends. Look for concerts tickets to castles like Sofiero, Hovdala, Christineholm, Marsvinsholm and more..
