Eco Friendly Conferences In Skiresort Åre
Starting this week Holiday Club in northern Sweden resort Åre is in a position to offer sustainable conference packages – complemented by the eco-tourism activity Zipline Ecotour and travel by train.
In December 2008 the hotel Holiday Club was eco-labelled and designed to offer various ‘green’ conference and holiday alternatives. The first one out is Eco Friendly Conference, a conference package with sustainable accommodation and the adventure and nature activity Zipline Ecotour.
A sustainable conference involves saving resources like eco-friendly conference materials, water from Åre,
locally produced pastries and recycling points. The rooms are cleaned with eco-friendly products. The heating system and ventilation are optimized for resource efficiency.
With the Zipline Ecotour you will get an adrenalin boost in combination with knowledge of the environment. It is a cable way where you travel, strapped in a harness, between the various stations on Mount Åreskutan. Between the runs the participants are invited to take part in the unique environment in Åre, together with its geology and history.
And it is possible to step out of the Zipline, half way if you change your mind:)
Arrival: International airport in Norway, Trondheim, or domestic airport in Östersund. There are also comfortable trains from Stockholm which I suppose should be the most eco friendly way to get there!
