Christmas Markets In Skåne 2009

Malmö
Malmö

Planners for Christmas Tours to Sweden will need the list for markets and events, so here is a link to the complete list at the tourist board. My personal favourites would be e.g:

Sofiero Helsingborg
Sofiero Helsingborg

19–20/11 and 26-27/11  Christmas spirit at Sofiero Manor House, Helsingborg. Two weekends offering inspiration for Christmas. A fairytale Christmas atmosphere with burning candles and advent flowers to inspire you in the darkness of winter. The manor house will be filled with the scent of oriental Christmas spices, while the Orangery will host a large cheese fair with many Christmas delicacies on offer. Torches and candles will give the manor’s park and gardens a magical atmosphere. Christmas preparations, gifts and decorations for sale, food and drink. Open from 11am to 6pm. Popular and equally crowded..

Another market nearby is 2-4/12  Christmas at Fredriksdal Museums and Gardens, Helsingborg. Beautiful gifts, Christmas food, handicrafts, busy market stalls, Christmas decorations all over the manor house, Christmas preparations in Lillarydsgården, dancing around the tree, Helsingborg’s Lucia celebrations and much more. Christmas fun and activities for children and adults throughout Fredriksdal Museums and Gardens. The old fashion atmosphere will hug you.

27/11 Christmas preparations at the monastery in Ystad. Traditional Christmas preparations at Gråbrödra Monastery in Ystad, where it’s all about handicrafts and getting ready for Christmas! The Christmas linen will go through the mangle, Christmas sausages will be stuffed and Christmas candles will be dipped.  Handicrafts, café and market. 2pm – 7pm.

27/11 Christmas preparations at Kulturen in Lund. Annual Christmas preparations with craftsmen at work and items for sale. Christmas exhibitions, handicrafts, music and street market.

Here is a blog about Christmas events in Copenhagen, suitable to combine with your Swedish tour.
Getting around is easy by train, car or coach!
