Chef of the Year championship
No less than six professional chefs from Skåne out of twenty-four from the whole Sweden will compete in the semi final for the title Årets Kock (Chef of the Year). The six skilled chefs from Skåne are:

Andreas Paulsson, Restaurang Oz Emellan, Helsingborg
Martin Hansen, Skanörs Gästgivaregård, Skanör
Anders Martinsson, Restaurang Mento, Helsingborg
Tobias Östlund, Era 10:3 Gastronomistudio, Båstad
The semi-final will soon take place in October 26-27 and the final will be in the beginning of next year. It is Sweden’s most prominent and renowned competition for professional chefs. The annual championship was founded in 1983, and has attracted chefs from the whole country ever since.
For the last seven years the dinner at the Nobel Prize ceremony has been composed and cooked by the Chefs of the Year. It is a prestigious challenge that calls for extreme ambition and accuracy in terms of logistics, planning and co-ordination.
For the forth time Peter J Skogström, representing Mat & Vin på Stolpaberga in Skåne, received the gold medal 2006 in front of hundreds of invited spectators at the World Cultural Museum in Gothenburg.
