An adventure in knowledge Kulturen in Lund
Kulturen in Lund is an attraction out of the ordinary. It is the biggest museum in Skåne and the second oldest open-air museum in the world. There are more than thirty buildings, moved and re-erected here to two blocks of the city of Lund, showing how people have lived and worked in Sweden through the ages. In the museum park there are gardens from both medieval and modern times – an oasis for those who wish to savour beautiful settings.
Esaias Tegnér (1782–1846) was one of Sweden’s most important authors. In the period 1812–1825 he was a professor at Lund University. His home from that time is preserved with original textures and various souvenirs of Tegnér.
There are exhibitions about everything from peasants in Skåne to arts and crafts from all over the world. There are also temporary exhibitions on current topics.
