Älvkarleby Fishing In Sweden
I went to Älvkarleby village for a visit last week. Just 1,5 hrs comfortable train travel north from Stockholm city center this amazing and powerful nature will welcome you. If you are a fan of fishing this is your place!
Lower Dalälven is the natural border to northern Sweden. Here you will find a richness of mammals, birds and fish like nowhere else in Sweden. This is also a very attractive and varied area for fishing. In the rapids below the Älvkarleby falls more salmon and trout is caught than in any river in Sweden, possibly Europe even.
The big rise of salmon starts in the middle of June and goes on until late July. The best period for trout fishing is from March-May and August-September.
