Light Festival In Simrishamn and Kivik in Sweden
There will be a lot of interesting and exciting sites to visit when villages in the south east district of Skane, Österlen are illuminated for next weekend. These relaxed and idyllic summer resorts have decided to create unique light attractions during some dark winter evenings. It all started successfully last year. On November 4th 2007, Österlen will be lit up again by local people putting up lights in their gardens and villages, by artists performing artworks of fire and much more.
Spectaculars illuminated gardens, buildings and art performances will amaze you. Since there are also a lot of expertise in how create effects by lights you will find lectures and inspiration from designers and local private gardens. Nearby Kivik you will find the Ulriksdal Garden and Park. Here you will be guided through the illuminated park and also meet the designers behind the effects.
The program for this “Light Festival” is really comprehensive and you have to choose what would interest you most. I did not find information in other languages than Swedish but within an hour from Malmö or Copenhagen, you will be in the middle of it, by train or car.
This weekend also means a start for the Christmas Markets in Skåne so you could make a combined light and glittering tour for the weekend.
