In lovely Nyhavn harbour you find one of the organic pioneers: Restaurant Cap Horn was one of the first eating place
s to adopt the organic philosophy in an atmosphere oozing history and ambiance. Wine, beer and soft drinks are organic as well, including the coffee. Cap Horn has preserved its original style with different chairs and porcelain and funny knick-knacks; all contributing to the relaxed and homely atmosphere.
During the summer you can drink an organic beer or have your meal on the large terrace overlooking the old wooden ships in the Nyhavn canal. Optional: luxury dining at Geranium.
Evening dinner at Geranium
Restaurant Geranium not only ranks high on the list of organic restaurants in Copenhagen, it is also located in beautiful green surroundings in Kongens Have, the park surrounding Rosenborg Palace. This organic gourmet restaurant has Rasmus Kofoed and Søren Ledet, two of the best chefs in the country, at the helm. The main priority of these two chefs is exclusively to use organic and bio-dynamic ingredients in their creative preparation of the food, and they only import wine, which can meet this requirement. Geranium’s meals are organic-Danish with many vegetables and herbs and the chefs enjoy updating old classical recipes, one of them being a luxury version of a Danish porridge. After lunch I recommend you to go for a walk in the beautiful surroundings in Kongens Have.
After a wonderful day in Copenhagen City you are going to stay at the an hotel with high standard when it comes to sustainability and ecology. The breakfast buffet is 100 percent organic with home-made yoghurt, French cheeses and rustic bread and pastry from Emmery’s. Apart from Emmery’s, Solhjulet, Hanegal and Urtegaarden (all of them known for their organic products) cater to the hotel with fresh supplies. The hotels furthermore have organic beauty products such as shampoo, body lotion and soap especially made for their rooms.
