Itinerary Tour Idea
Day 1. Arrival Copenhagen
Cross the bridge to Sweden and Malmö, by train. Tour Manager will meet in Malmö for information and assistance. Pick up your car and drive north.
The Örenäs Castle, is set between Helsingborg and Landskrona with a magnificent view cross the sea to Denmark and the island of Ven. The surroundings are characterised by the hilly landscape formed during the ice age. Here are villages and places that are well worth a visit. Drive from Malmö approx 60 km
Day 2. Sightseeing Day.
After breakfast visit Helsingborg and the Kullen peninsula with the dramatic nature reserve Kullaberg. In Helsingborg you could take the ferry to Denmark and visit Kronborg Castle in Elsinore. The former summer castle for the royal family Sofiero is also worth a visit.
Day 3. Örenäs – Vadstena.
Drive north on the motorway to Vadstena.The Monastary hotel in Vadstena is in a beautiful location, on the shore of Lake Vättern. The hotel is permeated by its historic links with the Birgittine abbey buildings dating from the 13th century. A visit to Vadstena is enhanced by a meal in this magnificent building and an opportunity to participate in wine tasting in the cellar, which is almost 700 years old. The Munkklostret (Monk Monastary) restaurant has a 14th century air, with thick walls and a vaulted roof. The food is well cooked and the kitchen takes its spices from the old abbey herb garden.
Helsingborg – Vadstena approx 310 km
Day 4. Vadstena – Villa Granholm
Head south again this time to the “Kingdom of Crystal” and Växjö. Stay in this stylish villa, built in 1902 for a local dignitary, is today a charming small hotel set in spacious grounds. Elegant public rooms and bedrooms furnished individually to a high standard. Drive around and visit famous Glass Studios and Furniture Design Shops.
Vadstena – Växjö approx 124 km
Day 5. Villa Granholm – Bäckaskog Castle
After breakfast head south through the forests of Småland to Skåne and the Bäckaskog Castle, located on a narrow neck of land between two glittering lakes. Monks built a monastery on this location in the 13th century. They combined the monastery life with outdoor activities and lived by farming, fishing and gardening. Prince Oscar (I) rented the castle in 1818 and assigned it to his son Karl XV, who spent each summer here from 1845 until his death in 1872.
Whatever your interests are the area around Bäckaskog has something to offer you. Good shopping in Kristianstad only 10 kilometres away, great fishing, clean beaches and lots of golf courses. Do not miss the panorama view from the small country road around the lake Ivö.

Day 6. Bäckaskog Castle – Häckeberga Castle
After breakfast cross the landscape direction Lund to get to Häckeberga Castle. During the way you will pass the Ringsjö Lake and beautiful Bosjökloster (Monastary). In Lund you should make a stop and visit the old cathedral and out door museum Kulturen. Have lunch in the old historical city centre or at the museum.
From Lund you have about 20 minutes drive to Häckeberga Castle in Genarp.
It is located in wonderful surroundings at lake Häckeberga and the nature reserve Ridge of Romele. Relax and enjoy the scenery of fascinating architectural and cultural history, its fresh air, beautiful light and peace and quiet. Take a walk round the lake and be well prepared for a delightful and tasty supper. The local artists and farmers have created a culinary and art trip with lots of small unique fa shops to visit.
Drive approx 120 km Bäckaskog – Häckeberga
Day 7. Departure – back to Copenhagen.
You could visit Malmö, (approx 5 km), visit the Turning Torso exhibition and have a gourmet lunch at the new build harbour area before crossing the bridge to Copenhagen.
