Swedish Traditional Games

Swedish traditional festivities and holidays, will also include singing and playing with friends and family. Young and old are expected to participate in various old games, typical for the region.
“We love Sweden” is an activity were the participants experience the Swedish culture in an entertaining manner. The activity starts with our crew dividing the group into teams. Every team will receive a “Swedish kit” with a mission. The mission contains questions and tasks about Sweden, Swedish traditions, history, famous people and so on.

The group will answer questions and visit different stations with special Swedish activities on their way to gather as many points as possible. The winning team will be awarded with a Swedish souvenirs. The activity will provide exercise in cooperation, problem solution and group communication.

Time: Approximately 2 hours

Stations (choose 4+1 final):
Kubb: Traditional outdoor game from the Swedish island Gotland.
Varpa: Varpa is an old outdoor game, who dates back to the Viking Age. The game can be described as a version of boules but played with a flat and heavy thrower known as “varpa” instead of balls.
Lasso Sami Style: Throw a lasso around reindeer antlers.
Swedish Flag Semaphore: Send a message with Swedish flags.
Taste typical Swedish food: Try dried meat of reindeer, meatballs, knäckebröd, tasting of lingonberry juice.
Final competition:
Jump sack: Race against your colleagues. Extra points for high and long jumps.
Wasaloppet: Typical Swedish ski activity. You compete 4 ppl at one pair of skis.
