In a magical world set up at one of the oldest theatres in Sweden “Confidencen” you will meet the atmosphere and shadows from the past.
Welcome to a dinner in three acts!
The songwriter from that time; Carl Michael Bellman will be your cicerone in a music intermezzo in three acts. The genuine settings in the old theatre will let you travel back in time.
The guests, honoured with a wreath of flowers, will be served a drink at arrival in the beautiful park of Ulriksdals Castle.
Uniformed troopers will escort you together with musicians to the well-preserved Confidence theatre. The auditorium will be re- furnished with round tables, decorated with flowers and candle lights. The hostess, opera singer Kerstin Dellert will greet you welcome. Waiters and waitresses will be dressed in 18th century clothes. A 3-course dinner will be served during the enchanting evening. Beverage included; ½ bottle of vine, water and coffee.History:
The late 18th century was filled with genius and taste. A controversial king Gustav III had a huge impact in the entire nation with architecture, culture, art, literature and the set of values of the people. This time also is called the age of liberty in Sweden. The assassination of Gustav III became the basis of an opera libretto by Scribe, set by both Daniel Auber in 1833 under the title Gustave III, and with the specifics changed by censorship, by Giuseppe Verdi in 1859 as Un ballo in maschera (A Masked Ball).
Sweden’s oldest rococo theatre Confidencen is situated in Sweden’s first National City Park, the green passage that connects the Mälaren Lake with the Baltic Sea.
