Pike Safari Activity in Dalarna

Pike Gädd SafariJoin an exciting adventure with the “barracuda” of freshwater lakes. In lake Ulvsjön, south of Borlänge in Sweden. you are invited to don a wetsuit and snorkel, and glide into the tempting waters. The pike, lurking patiently for their prey, are hidden among the lake’s weedy vegetation. They lie almost perfectly still, and then dart out to snatch a tasty meal.

As you swim among these predatory fish, you will be mesmerized by the sight of the pike’s large gazing eyes and its array of razor- sharp teeth. These fish feed predominately on smaller fish, but have been known to devour small birds, ducklings, frogs, and mice. It’s important that we are quiet when we snorkel for the “gädda” and often you find it “standing” still in the shallow water near land. This fish can get really big and the largest fish we have spotted here is around 12 kg!!!

On this guided tour, you will experience “eco- tourism” at its best. You can enjoy the incredible nature of Dalarna, and learn about the freshwater environment, without impacting the ecosystem.
