Cook, walk and talk your way through Nordic cuisine. Our Gastro Tours offer a unique opportunity for you to experience and sense the high quality and great taste of Nordic cuisine. We believe that the best way to experience and learn is through competent guidance and active involvement.
We offer muskox, reindeer, turnip juice from the arctic area, king crab, slow growing Limfjord oysters, Greenlandic ice water flounder, grouse – one bird in the world that communicates the flavours of its territory in a most intimate way – ancient local cow, pork and lamb varieties, more than 50 species of wild berries from the forests; broke berries, cloud berries, arctic bramble, cowberries – berries that have only been sampled and tasted by a handful of people outside the Nordic region.
Due to our region’s northern location, the light conditions are quite unusual. Our long dark winter is followed by a summer with wonderful days much longer than those of our southern neighbours. Light is energy. The plants use it to make phenols, proteins, oils and other interesting compounds. Where there is plenty of light, there is plenty of taste.
