Two seas, one river, three canals, eight lakes and 66 locks will be at your service at this tour from Gothenburg to Stockholm. Leave the stress and everyday life behind and just relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Feel the history of 140 years use of this waterway between Sweden’s two largest cities.

Itinerary Tour Idea – could start in Gothenburg or in Stockholm! For you who want to stretch you legs and stay active during the tour – pick up your bike in the beginning of the tour and leave at the end. Bike alongside the shore, jump off/on the boat – when suitable. Here is a map for an overview of the tour.

Day 1. Arrival Landvetter Airport in Gothenburg/Göteborg, transfer to Göteborg city for one overnight stay.

Optional, combine with 2-3 days in the archipelago near Gothenburg.

Day 2. Board your ship from the harbour in the city center in Göteborg, and start this wonderful cruise to Stockholm. The handsome, historical ships are designed to fit the most narrow lock on the canal like a hand in a glove. Built in 1874, Juno is the oldest ship still in regular service. The Wilhelm Tham was built in 1912 and the youngest ship, Diana, in 1931.

Day 3. After breakfast on board pick up your bike (that your captain collected during the early morning stop)-now you could bike and catch up you ship for lunch and dinner.

Day 4. Bike and cruise – enjoy the remarkable scenery with locks, lakes..

Day 5. Arrive in the heart of Stockholm city Old Town, district. Transfer to your hotel in Stockholm.
Optional – transfer to domestic airport and combine with more destinations in Sweden e.g Gotland and Faro island.
Day 6. Stockholm – Sightseeing e.g Vasa Museum, City Hall.
Day 7. Departure, transfer to airport
