Garden Tours In South Sweden
- On request
Sweden has interesting gardens. Historically, there was a strong French influence but in the mid-twentieth century Sweden became one of the leading countries for the development of modern gardens.
Sweden was a great military power during the seventeenth century. Many castles were built and many became palatial homes in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Swedish castles are often well positioned near to the sea or a lake, which makes them a joy to visit.
Although Sweden has a cool climate, many flowering perennials flourish in the south and centre of the country. We offer specialist tours, it is an easy country to visit with English very widely spoken.
Our expert guide, is a garden writer, photographer and lecturer who has published several books and many articles about special gardens, garden plants in general and roses especially. She has studies in photography and art & and botanical illustration and garden history at the University of Lund. Her keen interest for gardening for over three decades have given Christina the platform from which she is writing, giving lectures as well as taking practical assignments in the garden field.
The culture history of the rose, it´s fantastic fragrance and the diversity of both garden roses as well as cut roses are subjects that engage her a little extra. A fragrante and floral daily life, a big commitment to environmental issues and to spread knowledge, joy and inspiration within the garden field are the leading words for her in her work. We have put together three inspiration itineraries – and you may use them for a day trip or for a full week!
