Recommended Museums Stockholm

Recommended museums Stockholm are e.g:

Fotografiska – a waterfront museum for photography with an amazing view from the top-floor restaurant. Fotografiska frequently features major exhibitions by artists such as David LaChapelle, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, and Herb Ritts.

Moderna Museet – set on the scenic island Skeppsholmen, Moderna Museet offers world class modern art, a separate Center for Architecture and Design and a restaurant with floor-to-ceiling views of the city.

The Hallwyl Collection – a magnificent palace, built between 1893 and 1898, in the center of Stockholm. Stepping into the immaculately preserved home of the Hallwyl family takes the visitor 100 years back in time, when the family entertained in the sumptuous dining room, drawing room, smoking room, billiard room and armory.

Vasamuseet – experience the regal ship Vasa, fully restored to the original appearance at the time of its first – and only – voyage in 1628.

From Acne Jeans and Alexander Skarsgård, Avicii and Alicia Vikander to Zlatan Ibrahimovic – there are many compelling reasons to visit Sweden. Stockholm is a vibrant city full of life and light in summer, and with a quiet dignity and holiday spirit in the winter.

Just a short walk from Old town, Södermalm has been mentioned as one of the hippest neighborhoods in the world by Vogue (“In this day and age, “Cool” and “Stockholm” are essentially synonymous”). Here you find the food court with “junkfood” in Michelin starred style, a must for foodies to visit Teatern food venue. Another area is SoFo, small shops and design studios to explore.

Shorex and sights seeing programs in Stockholm will be provided upon request to Travel Gate Sweden.

Facts international flights to Stockholm and airport transfers
Arlanda airport is 37km north of the city and served by direct flights from all major European cities, as well as New York and Los Angeles, by most major airlines – British Airways, Lufthansa, SAS, United and others – and many low-fare airlines such as Ryan Air and Norwegian.

The quickest way into central Stockholm is the Arlanda Express train (arlandaexpress.com), which takes 20 minutes to reach Stockholm Central station (2) and departs every 15 minutes. There are also airport buses, which take 45 minutes, at a lower price point.
