Here is a suggestion for a self drive round trip starting in Stockholm, with two days in our beautiful capital on water. Continue north to the heart of Sweden with lakes and forests, castles and manor houses to tell you the Swedish saga.

Tour Idea – Itinerary
Stockholm (Elite Stockholm Hotel Plaza) – Gimo Herrgård (120 km) – Klockargården in Tällberg ( 234 km):

Day 1. Arrival, transfer to your hotel in the city center of Stockholm. Day free for own excursions and sightseeing
Day 2. Day free to explore the city. Take a walk in medieval old town, visit the amazing Vasa Museum, take a boat trip to the archipelago or the royal castle Drottningholm.
Day 3. Pick up your rental car and head north to experience another face of Sweden countryside.
Day 4: Gimo Herrgård Hotel is situated deep in the forests of Northern Roslagen, north of Stockholm. Gimo Herrgård was the first manor-house built in Sweden in the Gustavian style designed by architect Jean Eric Rehn in the 1760´s, a monument to the heyday of the Uppland ironworks. It is situated at the end of an impressive drive, by a beautiful pond surrounded by 250 year-old elms and lime trees. They warmly welcome all those who enjoy the good things in life and would like to do so in a beautiful, peaceful setting.
Day 5: Klockargården is a little hamlet with 20 old wooden houses nestling on the sloping shores of lake Siljan. Carefully modernized, every room has individual character. Klockargården’s special programs include music and folk dancing, arts and crafts exhibitions. Tällberg is a long-established holiday resort enjoying marvellous views and a lovely setting by lake Siljan. Sweden at its most Swedish!
Day 6. Departure and drive back to Stockholm, drop off you rental car at Arlanda Airport.
